The Family Lives On Foundation supports the lifelong emotional well-being of children whose mother or father has died. Their Tradition Program provides opportunities for intentional remembering, creating a safe haven for grief, communication and celebration. In 2014, they made several innovative Program changes to remove barriers that might prevent children and their caregivers from participating in their Tradition Program. Because of the increased access and awareness, the Family Lives On Tradition Program is now national in reach. Family Lives On will continue to work to adopt new practices in the field of child bereavement and to change the social conversation about death and childhood grief.
The Project
When the Family Lives On Foundation reached out to us, and shared with us their mission. We knew immediately, that supporting the lifelong emotional well-being of children whose mother or father has passed away. Was a project that mattered as much to us, as it did for the people at the foundation. So naturally as storytellers, we took our crew, our gear, and our compassion and visited three amazingly strong children grieving the lost of a parent; and helped them share their stories through the medium of film.
The Website
Our team was also responsible for creating the Family Lives On Foundation’s website, complete with an informative experience and the foundations very selfless mission so children, their caregivers, and prospective donators could engage with them on a national level.
This project was made possible through our Projects That Matter Initiative.
