The Carnival Doc Soft Open Featured in Philly Ad News: JTWO Shines Light on 125 Years of Legacy at The Penn Relays

Philadelphia-based video production company, JTWO, recently premiered their latest feature-length documentary, The Carnival: 125 Years of the Penn Relays, in a soft-opening to a private audience at The Palestra on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus. The film showcases the journey of the Penn Relays and its impact on the world of track and field.

For over two years, the JTWO team worked tirelessly to bring this story to life. They interviewed track and field legends like Carl Lewis, Renaldo Nehemiah, and Dr. Greg Bell, as well as current Olympians such as Justin Gaitlin, to uncover the rich history and cultural significance of the Penn Relays. The documentary delves into the early pioneers at the University of Pennsylvania who broke down racial barriers and paved the way for the Relays to become a beacon of hope during America’s darkest hours.

The Carnival: 125 Years of the Penn Relays is a testament to the power of human spirit, perseverance, and the enduring legacy of one of the world’s most renowned sporting events. The soft open at The Palestra was just the beginning of what promises to be a remarkable journey for JTWO, and a tribute to the Penn Relays and all those who have participated in this storied event over the past 125 years.

JTWO KICKS OFF 10 YEAR CELEBRATION WITH PHILLY AD NEWS COVER

In celebration of our tenth year as a company, JTWO was featured as the cover story in the September-October issue of Philly Ad News. Covering our humble beginnings, milestone projects, and goals for the future, the article gives readers a glimpse into the life of JTWO. Philly Ad News’ article does an excellent job at covering how we have been approaching our tenth year of business amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as how we’ve been navigating the second national economic recession in our company’s history. A global pandemic and stock market crash weren’t exactly what we had in mind when anticipating what our ten year anniversary was going to look like, but we’ve never been known to back down from a fight. And we’re glad Philly Ad News is right beside us as we face this challenge head on.

Philly Ad News is the premiere source of information of what’s happening in the creative industry in Philadelphia. Ranging from production companies to news stations and marketing firms, Philly Ad News is home to all things advertising. Since we are long time members ourselves, we love supporting Philly Ad News and their mission for the city. Following our friends and colleagues in featured articles has always been a pleasure. Now, JTWO is honored to be featured as the cover story for this month’s edition, and we’re excited to share this wonderful article with you.

About the Lost Boyz

Dig Deeper

After serving a short term in prison, LaVonte Stewart, a lifelong south side resident and founder of Lost Boyz Inc., became inspired to give back to his community’s youth. Through baseball and softball training, he helps provide a safe space where he can teach leadership and life lessons to neighborhood kids. We were humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to share their stories and tell about how LaVonte and the Lost Boyz are changing the south side of Chicago for good.

BEHIND THE SCENES

With only three days of filming we made it our mission to really immerse ourselves into the south side culture and come to know the Lost Boyz family. We could not thank LaVonte and the players enough for being so vulnerable and trusting of our team with their stories.

Our team partnered with Victus to photograph their newest limited edition V243 Pro Reserve, which was created “by the people, for the people” (Bryce Harper). As the Home Run Derby Champion, Harper swung Victus for the 2018 MLB Home Run Derby, letting freedom ring. We were thrilled to be part of the experience, especially since this could be Harper’s final season with the Washington Nationals.

Chicago Video Production

JTWO Opens Chicago Branch

Look Out Midwest, Here We Come!

Today we are proud to announce the official launch of JTWO | Chicago. We will be bringing our full range of Video Production and Post-Production services to Chi-Town along with some of our talented crew. We already have hit the ground running with collaborations with both agencies and clients on the ground.

Justin Jarrett, JTWO Principal Director

Over the past nine years, we have worked tirelessly to grow JTWO into one of the leading video production companies in the city of Philadelphia and we felt like it was naturally time to expand. There are more stories to tell and we felt like Chicago, with it’s deep rooted history and booming creative scene, was the perfect fit. Also, as a diehard Chicago Bulls fan I wanted a reason to attend more games (Don’t worry Philly, I am still Trusting the Process).

Meet Our New Executive Producer

JTWO | CHICAGO

We are proud to announce the newest addition to our team and Executive Producer of our new Chicago branch, Conor (Conaaaa) Hare! Having worked in account management for 9 years, Conor possesses extensive experience in client services and looks forward to expanding JTWO’s name in the midwest to bring stories that matter to life.

Growing up in a household of musicians, Conor always had a passion for storytelling. He loves the way lyrics meet paper and bring memories to life. Since Conor was young he’s been composing and recording his own music alongside his older brothers and finds that there’s truly nothing like it. He appreciates the connection film has with music and believes that together they form a powerful relationship.
